At just 23, Canadian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Talise has already begun carving out a singular place within Americana music. She has opened for acclaimed artists including Sierra Hull and Willi Carlisle, performed at an official South by Southwest showcase, toured throughout the United Kingdom, and been featured on influential roots-music platforms such as Western AF and Rowdy Alternative. After a few viral performance videos brought her to wider attention, she signed with UK-based label Run On Records and U.S. agency WME. Following the release of several singles through Run On Records, Talise is now preparing both an upcoming EP and her debut full-length album.

Her music draws from old-time, country folk, Americana, and blues, but its sense of history extends far beyond sound. Talise has spent much of her early twenties immersed in traditional craft, wilderness living, and the preservation of ancestral skills. This includes camping for months at a time in the woods of Maine, tanning hides, spinning and weaving wool sourced from her work on sheep farms, and attending traditional-skills gatherings. These experiences give her songs an uncommon physicality. They feel rooted in weather, landscape, labour, folklore.

Often accompanied by the stark pulse of clawhammer banjo, Talise delivers haunting ballads and hard-driving folk songs with restraint, emotional depth, and a voice that seems to reach backward through generations. Rrampt Magazine praised her “reserved intensity” and her ability to carry timeless stories with “poise and intention.” Drawing upon North American musical traditions without treating them as museum pieces, Talise creates music in which the ancient and contemporary meet. Her songs are raw, northern, and unmistakably her own.
